My cat's bleeding from his...?

We have a male at our house who's bleeding from his penis. It's persistent bleeding, and we don't know how it happened. Our cats sometimes fight but I didn't hear any fight in the house, just found blood and a brownish-red fluid that looked almost like bile on the floor. The cat in question was acting odd for several hours before this incident, only sitting around quietly and laying down, looking very tired and somewhat limp. He's still acting that way, laying in the bathroom, and he didn't react when I put a bit of gauze over the bleeding area like wounded cats typically do. We don't have the money to take him to the vet, and I'm worried that moving him might hurt him or make it worse. Does anyone know what this problem might be or anything else we can do to help him?
